The Michigan Bally Users Group Dear Friend, The Michigan Bally Users Group has just become aware of a mass mailed letter by a Mr. Fred Cornett soliciting money in return for purported publications, manuals, software and repair services through the mails. As a group concerned with the welfare of other users as well as the credibility of the manufacturer we wish to take issue with certain statements in this letter that are questionable. These statements have been highlighted in yellow and numbered to correspond with the following comments from us: 1. The word, "instant" is poorly chosen. We are all too familiar with the to 6 month waiting period from the time you send your check to the time your order comes. 2. "Hundreds of Games?" In 2 years he has only published 14 issues, averaging 3 games per issue. "dozens of games" would be more fitting. 3. Wait? See Comment #1 above. 4. Question: Will they ever arrive? See #1 above. 5. Is he selling his services as a critic, telling us which of Astrovision's products not to buy? 6. As sometime consultant's to Astrovision we have been referred to owners who have sent their units to Fred for service and were still waiting after 6 months. 7. We do not know of one that IS satisfied. 8. Does Astrovision know about this "support?" 9. Only 4 issues in 15 months is "fulltime?" He claims 14,000 subscribers in paragraph two. This is robbery. 10. Notice he says "12 issues," not 12 months. At this rate a 12 issue subscription would run 4 years or more. We call your attention to these statements to show our concern for potential Astrovision customer dissatisfaction with an individual who has a history of making claims he cannot substantiate and making promises he does not keep.
