These archived Bally Arcade/Astrocade programs are for use with Bally BASIC (the BASIC that requires an external tape-interface to load and save programs).

Anchors Aweigh "Anchors Aweigh"
By Ron Picardi
19xx
Archived from tape in Bob Fabris Collection.

"Anchors Aweigh" is an unpublished Arcadian submission.

It plays a song using PRINT commands.

Black Hole "Black Hole"
By Ron Picardi
ARCADIAN, 2, no. 6 (April 25, 1980): 50.
ARCADIAN, 2, no. 7 (May 19, 1980): 65.

The object of the game is to achieve orbit around the mystery ship with the X and Y thruster control that you have. You should be at the same speed and distance from the Black Hole as the mystery ship.

Lunar Lander "Lunar Lander"
By Ron Picardi
19xx.
Archived from tape in Bob Fabris Collection.

Lunar Lander was not printed in the Arcadian.

Morse Code "Morse Code"
By Ron Picardi
ARCADIAN, 2, no. 9 (July 28, 1980): 81.
ARCADIAN, 2, no. 10 (Sept. 17, 1980): 88. (Modifications and Additions)

     From the Arcadian:

A somewhat advanced program over others I've received. They translated a kepad input directly into code and made immediate output. Ron, on the other hand, allows you to enter a message up to 200 characters, and then it will transmit the whole thing at a user-entered speed. This makes it ideal for training reception via tapes. And it could be used for on-the-air transmission (under control of a licenses operator, of course.)

Pick A Pattern
Pick A Pattern.
By Ron Picardi.
1980 or 1981.
Unpublished Arcadian Submission.

Pick A Pattern allows you to make your own patterns, which works... but I don't really know how to choose options that make good patterns. The random element (option 2 on the menu) makes some of the most random, ultra-cool video art that I've ever seen on the Bally system! I let it run for a while now and I snapped pictures of the coolest-looking output.

It's too bad that Ron Picardi didn't simplify this program and eliminate options 1 and 3, which require LOTS of user input. This probably would have made the program publishable (and much shorter in length). As it is, it stands, I believe, as one of the most interesting (probably THE most interesting video art program) on the Bally (in either published or unpublished format). The only issue that I have with it is that some of the art it makes takes a long time to finish. This is because it's totally random for how many iteration each drawing cycle runs. I guess that's also part of the beauty of the program.

Ron included rudimentary instructions on how to use PICK A PATTERN with in his program submission letter. Although Ron's documentation may seem long, they are basic on the details:

Slot "Slot"
By Ron Picardi
ARCADIAN, 2, no. 6 (April 25, 1980): 51.

The "Arcadian" has no note or instructions about this game. In fact, no author is actually credited. However, on June 26, 2013, Paul Thacker confirmed that the author is Ron Picardi. He says, "There's a tape in Richard Houser's collection that labels Slot and several other programs as being by Ron Picardi."

Slot machines written in BASIC were common for the Bally/Astrocade. Here is another one.

Space Wars 3 Race "Space Wars 3 Race"
By Ron Picardi
19xx
Main version is archived from tape in Bob Fabris Collection.
Alternate version is archived from tape in Richard Houser Collection.

"Space Wars 3 Race" is an unpublished Arcadian submission.

The alternate version of "Space Wars 3 Race" was archived from a tape in Richard Houser's collection that included several Arcadian programs along with some unpublished Arcadian submissions by Ron Picardi. This version is slightly different than one found in Bob Fabris' collection.

Space Wars Super Edition Battlestar Galacia "Space Wars Super Edition Battlestar Galacia"
By Ron Picardi
19xx
Tapes with identical code were found in both the Bob Fabris and Richard Houser Collections.

On June 29, 2013, Paul Thacker wrote:

"Space Wars Super Edition Battlestar Galacia" replace the previously non-digitally archived "Space Wars Super Edition. The comments to the program say:

     3 .SPACE WARS
     4 .SUPER EDITION
     5 .BATTLESTAR GALACIA

And the tape in Richard Houser's collection includes "Battlestar Galacia" on the label, so I decided that was supposed to be part of the title.

Sub Search "Sub Search"
By Ron Picardi
ARCADIAN 2, no. 9 (Jul. 28, 1980): 82-83.

Your Mission is to find and destroy the enemy subs before he gets you. You can launch search probes on a 10x10 map. When you have sonar contact, you will have missiles to fire, at three depths.

Wave Study "Wave Study"
By Ron Picardi
19xx.
Archived from tape in Bob Fabris Collection.

"Wave Study" is an unpublished Arcadian submission.

This program graphs waves (like a sine wave) either individually or in combination.
